With 180hp in an aircraft weighing only 900 pounds empty, the 7.33 power-to-weight ratio will have this airplane climbing at an astonishing 2,100 fpm at sea level! Throttle it back in cruise, and you're only burning 5gph to scoot along in excess of 100mph. Add to that the ability to takeoff and land in a matter of a few aircraft lengths and you've got yourself a recipe for fun!
The Carbon Cub SS combines state of the art technology and materials to improve upon the "tried and true" design of the original Piper Cub. With carbon fiber components, the lightest of aircraft aluminum and CubCrafters very own CC340 engine, the Carbon Cub has lost over 250 pounds from the original Super Cub design. Additionally these materials allow for it to maintain its strength, the airframe has been tested to an ultimate limit load factor of 8.5G's!
